Gold Purchase Policy

The rules that apply each time you buy gold coins or digital gold from SMG through Save My Gold.

Version 1.0 Last revised 22 October 2026 In force

Purity

Gold sold through Save My Gold will be of the purity stated on the quote and invoice. Purity offered: To be published.

Rate

The purchase rate per gram is set by SMG with reference to a disclosed rate source (To be published) plus SMG's spread. The rate is shown with a timestamp. See the pricing methodology.

Quote expiry

Each quote is valid for a limited time (To be published). You must accept and pay within that window. Late payments are handled under the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Minimum and maximum amounts

Minimum purchase: To be published. Maximum purchase: To be published. Limits may depend on your KYC level and legal requirements, and will be shown in the app.

Taxes

GST is charged as applicable (currently 3% on gold) and shown as a separate line on the quote and invoice.

Fees

Any platform fee is shown as a separate line before you pay. If there is no fee, the quote will say so. There are no charges for holding gold in custody unless they are disclosed in advance and accepted by you.

Payment

Payment is made to SMG through the hosted checkout of an approved payment partner. An order proceeds only after the payment partner confirms the payment. SMG does not accept cash or third-party payments.

Physical procurement

For each paid order, SMG confirms physical gold of the stated purity from confirmed inventory or procures it from its supplier (Malabar Gold & Diamonds). Customer holdings are not credited before gold is confirmed.

Title transfer and allocation

When gold is confirmed, SMG allocates the purchased weight to you in its custody records and title passes to you, as described in the Terms and Conditions. Your holdings then show the order as Allocated.

Invoice

SMG issues a tax invoice in your name for each allocated order, available in the app.

Custody

Allocated gold is held in custody on your behalf as described on the Gold Custody page.

Gold coins

Gold coin orders follow the rules above, with these additions:

  • Range: coins in 1, 2, 4, 5, 8 and 10 grams. Minted by: To be published.
  • Making charges: To be published. Shown per coin on the quote and invoice.
  • Shipping: To be published. Shown on the quote before you pay.
  • Delivery: under the Shipping & Delivery Policy, handed over only to you after an identity check.
  • KYC: we ask for identity details, such as PAN, where the law requires it for the order value.

Failed allocation

If gold cannot be allocated to a paid digital gold order, or coins cannot be supplied for a paid coin order, the order is cancelled and the full amount paid is refunded to your original payment method.

Illustrative calculation

Hypothetical example only, not a live rate or offer: at an assumed rate of ₹10,000 per gram and GST at 3%, with no platform fee, a payment of ₹1,030 buys gold worth ₹1,000 (0.100 g) plus ₹30 GST.

ItemAmount
Hypothetical rate₹10,000.00 / g
Gold value₹1,000.00 (0.100 g)
GST (illustrative 3%)₹30.00
Total₹1,030.00
